Are alarmists turning on their own?

What she is stating is correct for any scientific endeavor. In my personal experience, the main value of being a part of academia is in order to "bounce" your ideas and points of view off your peers. That was what I hoped to find here, unfortunately that is not what is happening in this forum, except in very specific and limited situations.
