Surely this can't be true?

I served in the army in 1954 to 1956,..There was a draft at that time, so the army was made of both professionals, & draftees,..The general attitude towards the professionals, held by we draftees, was that they, the professionals were in the military because they were to dumb to do anything else,..& we considered the West Pointers to be stark raving crazy,..& now with the new volunteer army, they have lowered the standards even more, so that now there are people in the army that would have been rejected back when I served,..And if people are not crazy when they go in, they might, well, be,crazy, by the time they get out,..The Navy & Air Force might have higher standards than the Army, or the Marines,..due to the technical nature of the work done,..
