We should have had a man on Mars by now?

Ever since I was a kid I anticipated the day that a man would set foot on the red planet. But sadly it seems that NASA and other space agenies in the world arent funded as much as Id like them too. I think space exploration is the answer to world peace, and unity. I just wish we as a World would put more interest into space exploration and technology.
